Yeah, I think a lot of people forget or don't realise that no coaching is allowed during matches. It definitely makes it unique in that sense. Although we often see players try to break that rule (like Serena Williams a few years ago) with secret codes and hand signals!
I think i’d like to see coaching between matches, even sets. I do feel pretty sorry for tennis players when the wheels start coming off and they have to let the world watch without getting some support from a coach and mentor.
For sure, I definitely feel sorry for them too. It's horrible watching the players lose control of their emotions and they are so helpless. I'd like to see more coaching allowed and I think it would help keep the standard of tennis consistent in players who struggle staying composed.
I never considered Tennis to be a lonely sport. What an eye opener.

Did she really! Do you have a YouTube link?
+1 for seeing the footage of this, I forget they aren't allowed any coaching.. is that in all tournaments?
I think it is never allowed for men, but is allowed for women outside of Grand Slams.
So Serena Williams, for example, can be coached during WTA (Women's tennis association) tournaments but not in Grand Slams.
Men cannot in any tournaments. This difference is interesting in it's own right.
And sure @teamflowstate , here you can see the umpire give Serena a penalty here in the US Open 2018!
Wow!
