If you haven't seen Wim Hof's Freeze the Fear series you should definitely give it a look
Although it dumbs down some of what he's about and plays on the celebrity challenges a bit too much, it is a real reminder on the benefits of going into the cold. I do it, every morning I get into the shower, start look warm and then towards the end it's as cold as I can handle.
I remember spending some time early on a winter Monday morning in Hyde Park London, watching 40 or so elderly people all queuing up to get into the open fresh water swimming pool thinking 'wtf are these people doing'. That was around 5 years ago, I asked and one of them told me about how the body and mind responds to consistent, daily exposure to cold water and how it was a 'life changer' for all of them.
