Hi,
Is anyone using a Peloton bike or treadmill, or been tempted to buy one?
Looks like a big financial commitment for one piece of equipment and I don’t know anyone personally that has a Peloton bike or treadmill. Plus it’s not like I can go and test one out!

My issue with Peleton is that I kind of don't like to be bothered when I'm working out. I've never been personally interested in group fitness classes (even if they could help with my motivation).
I think if you are interested in these classes, it could be incredibly valuable, but this is not necessarily what I'm looking for in gym tech.
Ah I see, that's interested as I prefer working out in group classes IRL (or I did!). For some reason, I didn't see it as clear as that. Maybe Peloton is the right move if I want to experience at least some of that social exercise again.
I don't have any personal experience with Peloton, but if you're looking for something along those lines, I can share what I've done.
I bought a bike trainer (like this one) and hook my bike up to it. I've put it in front of my TV so I can watch TV while training. I'm not one for fitness classes but you can always buy/stream them to a tv or a phone/tablet mounted to your bike.
This has the added bonus of being able to remove the bike from the trainer and take it out on nice days.
That’s what I was thinking. I was assuming Peloton would offer some form of social real-time competition, so you can join then next realtime session and start competing and get realtime ranking and feedback from the instructors during the session. I’ll have another nosey at it. There is also zwift which is think does exactly that but you can adapt your existing roadbike to use it, which sounds much more sensible
Thanks Keith, I like that idea, very practical and modular.
Good question! I don’t know anybody that has one, I’ll ask around
Thanks!
